尚，新登録物件を含めた最新のユネスコ世界遺産の一覧については，2001年1月に発刊する「世界遺産データ・ブック−2001年版ー」，それに，「世界遺産マップス−地図で見るユネスコの世界遺産ー2001改訂版」をご参照頂きたい。（新物件のプロフィールについては，現在刊行中の「世界遺産ガイド」シリーズの中で，適宜，紹介していきたいと考えている）
また，新しく登録される日本の「「琉球王国のグスク及び関連遺産群」の物件概要については，同じく2001年1月に発刊する「世界遺産ガイドー日本編ー 2001改訂版」をご参照頂きたい。本書では，先般，文化庁から発表された，新たに「暫定リスト」に加わる「平泉の文化遺産」，「紀伊山地の霊場と参詣道」，「石見銀山遺跡」の物件概要についても簡単に触れたいと考えている。（H・F）
